Skid Row - Big Guns

I've been addicted to this song over the past couple of days. Been a fan of Skid Row all my life. But lately I've been listening to them a lot more than I used to. Sebastian is one hell of a vocalist and was when it came to the original Skids. Overall this song is just pure awesomeness of the 80s.

Now to test out the Youtube embedding on this bad boy. Well it seems my MP3 player has been liking Currents by Dashboard Confessional lately. A good song, mind you. But from the album I much prefer So Long, So Long and Dusk and Summer.

I've been listening to some lesser known people lately. Specifically Kyle Park and the Josh Abbott Band. They're both country, so if you don't like country it's probably not your thing. If you do like country, however, you should check these guys out.

I've been going on with the jazz theme I started couple of days ago and am now listening to Melody Gardot - Baby I'm a fool. She's got a great voice, a sad story that turns to a victory and I got to admit that she's hot as hell cool.gif

Juvenile - Slow Motion

Now, you know me. I generally hate rap, whether it's gangsta, porno or Christian. I fully believe the best rap came out before 1997 and if there's a rap song I like beyond that year, it's a miracle. This is one of those cases. The lyrics aren't smart or anything, but it's a good song to dance to and I've caught myself singing it a few times this past week or so. So, if you haven't smacked yourself into a coma from shock yet, check it out. It's worth it.

Drake - Find Your Love

This is the first song I've actually heard from Drake, and even though I thought he was overhyped, I'm starting to believe in the hype. Like I said, this is the only song I've heard from him, so I'm probably going to test out a few of his other songs later.

Mr. Brightside - The Killers

After some motivation the other night by Bucky, I finally watched Brandon Flowers' new music video for Crossfire. So I've been listening to that, but then last night I finally downloaded Hot Fuss, the first major album from The Killers, and well here we go. I liked this song when it came out, but in all fairness, I've liked all of their singles. I was always kinda weirded out by the video though, to be honest. But nonetheless, a great song.

I'm watching TV at the same time I'm writing in this forum so I'm rather listening to TV right now. The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder is running - an interview with Kiss... of course. laugh.gif

Winger - Spell I'm Under

The band that is more famous for songs of Headed For A Heartbreak and Seventeen. Or just one of the top Power Ballad bands in general. Winger is one of those bands that I feel are one of the more underrated bands out there. By this song at that! This is one of those songs that I feel could of been one their top hits. Especially on the Ballad List.

Sonata Arctica - Shy

Just sitting around, listening to shuffle and bam! I get hit with a big slice of Finland's sexiness. 'Cause that's exactly what Sonata Arctica is. Definitely not their most epic song ever written, but I really like it, for a few reasons. For starters, Tony Kakko writes some really great, dark romantic songs and this is perfect proof of that. It's about some guy who notices a waitress in a coffee shop (I'm assuming) and he takes a liking to her, the attraction becoming love if only for the man, who's too shy to say a word to her but finds solace in watching her apparent beauty and grace from a distance. I don't know if I should be creeped out and dialing the po-po or commenting on the beautifully done obsession described herein. Awesome song, from right there alone. But I also love it for the references to Letter To Dana, mentioning this Dana several times throughout this song. Cross-referencing like that's just epic. Beyond that, Tony Kakko has an awesome voice and the world would be a better place with more singers like him who actually put effort into their songs, rather than just abusing autotone and finding words that rhyme together. For sure. Now the song. Listen to it.

I love you Bucky... in a manly and grateful way and for that I shall award you with a beer keg and four lovely ladies to carry it around for you. tongue.gif Sonata Arctica is without a doubt my favorite band of all time and anyone who likes them and praises them with such epic description deserve a manly chest bump of epicness. laugh.gif

Also Shy's one of my favorite songs from them as in a way I can relate to the character (not in the stalker thing but the parts of being shy). Also Tony Kakko is one of those natural talents as he doesn't have any vocal training.

Anyways that song got me to a good mood and listening to Sonata.

This has to be my favorite song from them from my favorite album from them (damn there's many from words) Winterheart's Guild, it's their third album filled with great music that leaves you wanting more. Enjoy Victoria's Secret (and no it isn't meant to be the lingerie manufacturor).

And this topic suddenly dies? I don't think so. I'm listening to Showbread's And the Smokers and Children Shall Be Cast Down. A great rock/screamo/screamcore/whatever the hell else they do band. This song is on one of their older albums, but is up there with Matthias Replaces Judas as my favorites from all of their music.

Infamous OST - Rabble Rouser

Yep. I do in fact listen to video game soundtracks in my free-time. Considering I've recently been replaying Infamous as an evil douche overlord, I pretty much was required to download the awesome as Chuck Norris in a vampire movie soundtrack. And I love Rabble Rouser. Yes, Genesis is the single best track in the game - so much like The Dark Knight - but Rabble Rouser is just one bumpin' song to get your zap on to.
