The original voice actors who brought Rocko, Heffer, Filburt, and the rest of O-Town to life will reunite for Nickelodeon’s forthcoming one-hour TV special, 'Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling'. The one-off TV special will premiere on Nickelodeon in 2018 and will be written and executively produced by the series creator Joe Murray.

QUOTE ("Entertainment Weekly")
According to Nickelodeon, the TV special “brings the characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.

Along with the revived Rocko, Nickelodeon will also welcome a new TV movie featuring the cast of 'Hey Arnold!' this fall, as well as a special starring Invader Zim.

I haven't seen 'Rocko's Modern Life' in probably over a decade and a half, but the plot sounds like it's right up Rocko's alley. The series has always been about the titular character trying to come to grips with everyday life, so this fits his series' theme perfectly. And after watching the 'Legends of the Hidden Temple' movie last night, I have high hopes for this special.

I didn't mean to leave you all high and dry 731 days ago (exactly two-years ago), but wow. Where has the time gone?! Since last venturing by, I've made quite a few life-altering changes. To name a few, I've...
  • Completed my bachelor's degree in Sport Management.
  • Moved to a city 11-times (population-wise) larger than my hometown.
  • Started a job with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, working in their Athletic Communications Department.
  • Moved on from said job to work for the state's Department of Revenue.
  • Received a promotion with the Department of Revenue.
  • Returned to the University to assist the men's and women's basketball teams with statistics.
And now that things have finally started to settle down in my life, I determined it was time to return to what I've always considered my home away from home... Generation Z.

As far as forum upgrades and updates go, I don't have any real big plans set in stone, but I know with our recent upgrade to 'HTTPS' it has broken quite a few links, images, skins, etc., so fixing those will be my first priority. After that though, who knows. I'm just glad to be back around familiar territory. It's great to see you all again.

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the Zordon of Eltar or Teenagers with Attitude fan-film YouTube videos, but Ranberboard's Mr. Faktastic has just released the Zordon of Eltar fan-film after 18 months of anticipation and work. The link to the video is in the statement from Mr. Faktastic at the end of this post.

From what I've gathered this fan-film has been met with relatively positive reviews when compared to Joseph Kahn's Power/Rangers fan-film. I have yet to watch Zordon of Eltar myself, but from the minute of content I have seen, it's obvious Mr. Faktastic put a lot of his own time and energy into this film.

Statement from Mr. Faktastic:

QUOTE
I spent the last 18 months teaching myself VFX, linking up with talented individuals to release this passion project that re-imagines MMPR. I am a true fan and to anyone who cares to watch I hope they can see that nothing but heart was put into this fan film.

Full Film: https://youtu.be/A1WUau1ZF3M

The original Zordon himself David J. Fielding provided the voice for King Mondo in this fan film as well. It was an honor to work with him and give this fan film a sliver of "authenticity" that you can take for whatever that's worth. Bottom line is at the end of the day it was an amazing experience and I'm glad I got to contribute to the fandom this way.

We had a topic for the PlayStation3, so I figured we needed one for the PlayStation 4. If someone wants to create a similar XBox One thread, I’d be willing to pin it as well, but I’m a Sony guy so I would almost undoubtedly be lost in an XBox thread. In this topic you can talk about the games you like/dislike, upcoming news about the platform, and what you would like to see in the future. Additionally, if you are wanting to buy a PS4, you can ask questions about the system or its games here.

I just recently purchased my PS4 about two weeks ago as I promised myself that I'd somehow reward myself if I passed my three summer classes with an A or better. I knew the feat would be hard as I took an English Composition class on campus, which required writing multiple essays, while also taking World Regional Geography and Principles of Accounting online. I pretty much didn't have a life outside of work and these classes throughout June and July, so when I saw Target had a sale on the PlayStation 4, I determined that was going to be my reward. The sale didn't save me much, but it did get me a year of PlayStation Plus for $19.99 instead of the usual $49.99 price-tag. On top of that I was able to use the Target REDcard to save another 5%.

Sadly, I have only played the demos for The Lego Movie, NBA 2K14, and FIFA '14. I do have The Last of Us: Remastered, but have gotten so engrossed in the PS3 game Catherine that I've barely touched the PS4 since. Oh well, once I complete this game I'm sure the PS3 will sit in isolation, much like my PS2, although I do wish the PS4 had the media capabilities of the PS3 so I may surprise myself in how much I still use it.

So, Generation Z, who else has a PS4? My gamertag is R_Dubs4Life if anyone is interested in adding me. I already have Lord_Sloth, along with Nintenking and Pumjetsu but those two are from my PS3 days.

That's about all I have for now. Feel free to take this topic in any PS4 direction.

Yesterday, August 12, 2014, during Sony Computer Entertainment's presentation at Gamescom 2014, an interactive teaser titled P.T. (short for "Playable Teaser") was released on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 4. In the teaser, the player explores an apartment in first person. Upon completion of the teaser it is revealed to be for the next Silent Hill game entitled Silent Hills, which is being developed by Kojima Productions using the Fox Engine and is a collaboration between two of the biggest names in gaming and Hollywood, Hideo Kojima & Guillermo del Toro, featuring actor Norman Reedus. Many know him for his role as Daryl Dixon in the AMC series The Walking Dead.

Beyond the trailer and the playable teaser, the only noteworthy item is that this new Silent Hill is being created by a developer no one had heard of, 7780s Studio. It's likely the studio was made by the directing pair to really blindside everyone with the reveal. As of now this is exclusive to the PlayStation 4, but these things can always change.
