I've been tossing this idea around for a few weeks and I finally decided to ask GZ for help with it. I've come up with an idea for an image to represent my book reviews. But those of you that know me know that I have no artistic ability whatsoever. So long story short, artist needed. I'm willing to pay for the work and obviously you will be credited whenever the image appears on my channel.
Well I finally got this show going after a couple of years of talking about it and planning. I've made this topic so I can notify you wonderful people when I have a new episode and also so we can have discussion about it without having to deal with Google+ and YouTube.
Anyway, here's the first episode:
Any and all feedback is appreciated. This was, after all, my first shot, and I know there's improvements to be made.
Okay, so I've had this idea bouncing around for some future points in my stories, but I realized that springing it on everyone then may not work so well, so I'm gonna put it up here and see what people think.
My idea is basically finding a way to have stories utilize music the same way movies can, by having certain parts of the song align with specific parts of the film. The obvious problem is that everyone reads at different paces. My original thought was sync points, essentially a little blip saying "the song should be at this point when you read this," but that would seriously break the flow and make you not focus on the scene itself.
So, while listening to the various theme songs from PR and giving it some thought, I realized that Dino Charge is the Zeo of the Neo-Saban era with regard to theme song. It starts out with a new song, and incorporates a modified version of the original at the end.
So Pumjet asked a question in the GZ chat tonight, and being the GZ-obsessed freak that I am, I went and found an answer for him. The question was this: How many stories on GZ have actually been finished. Well I have an answer, and I don't think you're gonna like it.
There's 140 topics in Writer's Craft. Take away the two pinned topics and that's 138. Take away the 5 topics for Poetry or plot by points, and that's 133. Of those, 24 are completed stories. The writer who finished the most stories was Bucky with 5. Behind him is a tie between Tom, Nintenking, and FangRX with 4 each. The stories completed were 9 GZ stories, 8 Non-GZ Fictions, and 7 Short Story/Contest entries.
The obvious take-away here is that we need to step up our game. We currently have 4 stories running, all GZ Stories, and all from active members. Let's make a concentrated effort to finish at least one of them. Because that would still be a better success rate than we've had.
